Customers Find Enlightenment in Window Buying; Zen
Windows Redefines the Industry
COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Dan Wolt will be the
first to tell you buying windows is not rocket science.
This is especially refreshing considering his profession. Wolt
is the owner of Zen Windows in Columbus.
After years spent working for larger window companies, Wolt
was burned out by the high-pressure sales tactics, drawn-out presentations
and questionable execution of finished product by technicians
he's never met.
One day Wolt had a revelation about sales while shopping at
a nice clothing boutique. "They asked me what I needed and
showed me some options," says Wolt. "Then they measured
me and told me that the clothes would be ready in three days.
I could try them on and if I liked them, I could buy them. No
problem."
Zen Windows was born.
Wolt's business model is simple. Present the product simply,
truthfully and straight-to-the-point. Selling primarily one high
quality brand of windows -- Thermal Industries, a well-known Pennsylvania-based
manufacturer that happened to produce the first vinyl window ever
made -- helps. He also only hires experienced technicians that
he knows, and who are good at what they do.
However, his sales approach might be the most unique part of
his company. He makes the appointment himself -- Zen Windows IS
Dan Wolt -- no middle man. The appointment lasts no longer than
15 minutes and Wolt gives the customer a quote. That's it.
Oh -- and he won't take your money until the windows are installed
and you are happy with what you've got.
"I do business my way, with respect for the customer,"
Says Wolt. "I show up on time, give a short presentation
and provide a quote. If the person or family decides to honor
me with their business, they will have replacement windows in
about three weeks, and can pay me then."
This "no-pressure" approach has made Zen Windows
a popular choice in Columbus. They've received an A+ rating from
Angie's List and have been featured in an online article by The
New York Times' owned About.com.
