Welcome!

I'm a 210 lb, 27 year old female who has been struggling to lose an excess of 60 lbs for three years. I start different diets and exercise programs, they start working for me, then I lose interest, and go back to my old and unhealthy eating habits.

I've tried the high-protein, low-carbohydrate diet -- it works, but I lose interest.

I've tried counting calories and fat grams -- it works, but I lose interest.

I've tried the exercise 7 days a week for at least an hour. That worked, but was a very slow process, because I was gaining muscle tone and losing inches, but saw no results on the scale.

I need a way to commit to losing my excess weight. So, I'm asking for support from my fellow internet buddies, those who can relate to what I'm going through.

Join our moderated discussion/mailing lists, in which you can email the group, or a particular individual about your progress, your doubts, your gains, your setbacks, your frustrations or elation.

For me, personally, maybe if I have to post my progress every week, I will stay committed to accomplishing a goal very important to me.

I need to lose weight to feel better about myself, to decrease my unhealthy risk factors for disease and other illnesses, and to have more stamina and energy to keep up with my 3 1/2 year old daughter.

Hi, you guys, I'm Back (5/22/00). I haven't been doing so well on my weight loss journey. I haven't gained, but I haven't lost either. Last week, I joined the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training, so guess what? I'm training to participate in the Marine Corps Marathon, October 22, 2000 in Washington, D.C. I've read in Shape magazine and Fitness magazine that marathons really inspire and motivate. Even Oprah Winfrey has participated in a marathon. Anybody interested in joining a team in your area, log on here for more information.

Progress reports will be posted weekly.
